WORST of people are those...

Aishah RA said: A man sought permission for audience with the Prophet S.A.W.S .
He S.A.W.S. said "Give him permission but he is a bad member of his tribe."
When he came in, the Prophet S.A.W.S. talked to him softly.
I said, "O the Messenger of Allah, first you said what you said and then talked to him leniently."
He S.A.W.S. said, "Yes, Aishah, the worst of people are those whom the people leave fearing their abomination."

(Sahih Bukhari)

Being harsh or hastening to condemn others for their mistakes can make matters worse and does more harm than good. We should be gentle when dealing with the one who is ignorant and correct him at the right time and when others are not around (otherwise, it will cause him shame) and not rebuke him, so long he is not acting out of stubbornness.

Some people refuse to see and interact with those whom they consider to be of doubtful character. This attitude does not correct that person. It may, rather, harden his attitude and he might stop feeling ashamed of his act and become stubborn. This Hadith teaches us moderation.

Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said,

"Shall I not tell you whom the (Hell) Fire is forbidden to touch? It is forbidden to touch a man who is always accessible, having polite and tender nature.''
