"Is there obedience to parents after their death?"

A man of Banu Salamah came to Prophet S.A.W.S. and asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Is there any obedience to parents left that I can show to them after their death?''
He S.A.W.S. replied, "Yes, to pray for them, to supplicate for their forgiveness, to fulfill their promises after their death, to maintain the ties of kinship which cannot be maintained except through them, and honour their friends.''
(Reported by Abu Dawud)

A woman came to the Prophet S.A.W.S. and said 'My mother has died... O Messenger of Allaah, she still had one month to fast – can I fast it on her behalf?' He said, 'Fast it on her behalf.' She said, 'She never went to Hajj – can I perform Hajj on her behalf?' He said, 'Perform Hajj on her behalf.'"

(Reported by Muslim, may Allaah have mercy on him, in his Saheeh, no. 1149)

Sa'd ibn 'Ubaadah said: "I said: 'O Messenger of Allaah, my mother has died. Should I give charity on her behalf?' He said, 'Yes.' I asked, 'What kind of charity is best?' He said, 'Providing water.'"

Favor your brother, Pray with him

When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) saw a man who had entered the mosque after the prayer was over, he said, "If anyone wants to do this man a favour, let him pray with him."
(Narrated by Abu Dawood)

He s.a.w.s also said
"It is better to join another person and pray than to pray alone and it is more superior in the company of two men and the bigger the congregation the more liked it is by Allah."
(Abu Dawud)

Greatness of Fasting in Sha'baan

‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) said:
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did not fast in any month more than Sha’baan, and he used to fast all of Sha’baan and he used to say: “Do as much of good deeds as you can, for Allaah does not get tired (of giving reward) until you get tired.” And the most beloved of prayers to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was that in which one persists even if it is little. When he offered a prayer he would persist in doing so.
(Bukhari)

{Fasting in second-half of Sha'baan can be Makrooh (disliked): http://www.islam-qa.com/en/ref/49884 }

"The world is more worthless than this dead lamb"

Messenger of Allah (S.A.W.S.) was passing through the bazaar with his Companions on his both sides, when he saw a dead skinny lamb.
He held its ear and said,
"Who of you would like to have it for a dirham"
They replied, "We do not like to get it for nothing, and what shall we do with it?"
Then he (S.A.W.S.) asked,
"Would you like to have it for nothing?"
They replied, "Had it been alive, it would have been defective because it is skinny; but when dead it is of no use"
Messenger of Allah (S.A.W.S.) said,
"Truly, the world is more contemptible to Allah than this (the dead lamb) is to you".
[Muslim]

Commentary: This Hadith shows the futility of this world for which one struggles so madly throughout his life.

Help each other in good deeds, but not in sinful deeds

Help ye one another in righteousness and piety, but help ye not one another in sin and rancour: fear Allah: for Allah is strict in punishment.

(Qur'an 5:2)
