The Prophet 
said,
"By Him in Whose Hand my life is, you either enjoin good and forbid evil, or Allah will certainly send His punishment to you soon. Then you will make du'a (supplication) and it will not be accepted".

Commentary: To abandon the practice of enjoining virtue and forbidding vice incurs the displeasure of Allah. This trend is indeed fraught with the danger of rejection of prayers and supplications by Him.
