Some muslims mix their culture and traditions with Islam and introduce new religious practices, which are termed as "bid'ah". Bid'ah is the greatest sin a Muslim can commit (followed by: Gunah Al-Kabeerah (Major Sins) and Gunah Al-Sagheerah (Minor Sins)].

Why Shaitan loves bid'ah more than any other sin
A person who commits sins, knows that what he is doing is wrong. So, at some point he may regret and repent to Allah.
But a person who does bid'ah, continues doing it while thinking that he is actually doing a good deed. And so, he never repents from it.

Bid'ah means denying that Islam is complete
When a person innovates something and adds to the religion something that does not belong to it, he is implying a number of bad things, for example:
- That the religion is incomplete, that Allaah did not complete and perfect it, and that there can be more improvement. This clearly contradicts the statement in the Qur'aan:
"… This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion…" [al-Maa'idah 5:3]
- That the Prophet (S), his Companions were "less righteous" and they missed out on the reward of doing this "good innovation".
The innovator (one who does bid'ah) must correct himself and say to himself, "If it was truly good, the Prophet (S) and his companions would have been the first to do it."
